AlgoLens Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-06-12 · Revised: 2026-07-12

AlgoLens (the "Service") is a channel-analysis Chrome extension for YouTube creators. This policy explains what information the Service accesses, what it stores, and how it protects that information.

1. Use of YouTube API Services

This Service uses YouTube API Services. By using the Service, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Access and Collect

Paddle billing identifiers (customer / subscription / transaction IDs) and subscription statusManaging your plan & credit entitlements; processing refundsService server — deleted when your account is deleted. Coupon redemption history (hashed identifier, coupon code, redemption time)Preventing duplicate redemption and fraudulent credit farmingService server — retained even after account deletion for fraud-prevention purposes (contains no directly identifying information)
Core principle: Your YouTube data never passes through or is stored on our servers. The extension calls the YouTube API directly from your browser, and the results stay on your device. As the only exceptions, two things are stored on our server: ① a daily snapshot of three numeric key metrics (subscriber count, watch hours, Shorts views) for change tracking, and ② the text of AI analysis results you generate with credits (so you can re-view them from another device). Raw YouTube API data (video titles, descriptions, audience retention, etc.) is never stored on our servers.

3. Data Protection & Security (Safeguards for Sensitive Data)

To protect the sensitive YouTube data you authorize via OAuth (YouTube Analytics and YouTube Data, read-only), the Service applies the following technical and organizational safeguards. We use encryption to protect your information, and security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data.

4. Device Access (Storage)

The Service accesses browser extension storage (chrome.storage) to keep your analysis-result cache and your theme, language, and notification settings on your device. Browser notifications (chrome.notifications) and periodic checks (chrome.alarms) are used only to show you alerts; notification content is generated on your device and never transmitted externally. It does not use cookies and does not access your browsing history or activity on other sites.

Your conversations with the AI Coach are not stored on our servers — they're kept only in your browser's extension storage, up to the 10 most recent sessions. They are deleted when you disconnect, delete your data, or remove the extension. As the only exception, a minimal billing-verification record (session identifier and turn count — never the conversation content) is stored on the server and deleted together when your account is deleted.

5. Third-Party Sharing

When you use the AI features, a summary of your channel/video statistics is relayed through the AlgoLens server to Anthropic (USA)'s API (the server composes the analysis instructions and relays the request). Per Anthropic's API policy, transmitted data is not used for model training. No other collected information is sold, shared, or provided to outside parties. Server infrastructure is operated on Cloudflare (USA); the only data stored is the hashed identifier, usage counts, credit transaction ledger, plan, key-metric snapshots, AI analysis result text, Paddle billing identifiers, and coupon redemption history listed in the table above. For payment processing by Paddle, see Section 5-1 below.

5-1. Payment Data Processing (Paddle)

Paid purchases in AlgoLens (PRO subscription, credit packs) are processed by Paddle as the Merchant of Record. Payment details you enter at checkout — card information, billing email, billing address, tax-related information — are collected and processed directly on the checkout screens of Paddle and Paddle's payment partners (PSPs); they are never received or stored by AlgoLens's own servers. AlgoLens does store the customer / subscription / transaction identifiers (IDs) issued by Paddle, together with your subscription status, in order to manage your plan and credit entitlements and to process refunds; these identifiers are deleted together when your account is deleted. When a refund is approved, credits granted by that transaction may be automatically reclaimed. The contracting entity for your payment is the Paddle legal entity shown at the bottom of the checkout screen (e.g., Paddle.com Market Limited, UK); for details of Paddle's data handling, see the Paddle Privacy Policy.

5-2. Notice for Users in Japan (Act on the Protection of Personal Information)

For users in Japan, the following supplements this policy under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). To provide the Service, AlgoLens provides or entrusts a limited set of personal data to the following third parties: Google (OAuth authentication of your Google account), Anthropic (relaying your channel/video statistics summary for AI analysis when you use the AI features), Paddle (payment processing as the Merchant of Record; your card and billing details are collected directly by Paddle), and Cloudflare (server hosting and database). These providers operate servers located outside Japan (in the United States and the United Kingdom), so your personal data is transferred across borders to those countries. AlgoLens does not sell your personal data to any third party. For inquiries regarding the handling of personal data, contact june04860486@gmail.com.

5-3. Notice for Users in the EU/EEA (GDPR)

For users in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), the following supplements this policy under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Legal bases: we process your personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service and processing payments), on the basis of your consent (for example, when you authorize access via OAuth), and for our legitimate interests (such as preventing fraudulent use and securing the Service). Your rights: subject to the conditions set out in the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority. International transfers: your personal data is processed on servers located outside the EU/EEA (in the United States and the United Kingdom) by the providers described above; such transfers rely on the appropriate safeguards offered by those providers. To exercise any of these rights, contact june04860486@gmail.com.

6. Revoking Access

You can revoke the access AlgoLens has to your YouTube data at any time on the security settings page of your Google account. Upon revocation, the Service can no longer access your channel data.

7. Data Deletion

Pressing "Delete my data" at the bottom of the dashboard immediately deletes the information stored on the server (hashed identifier, usage counts, credit transaction ledger, plan, key-metric snapshots, AI analysis result text, Paddle billing identifiers, coupon redemption history) and the browser cache. Removing the extension from Chrome also immediately deletes all data cached in your browser (analysis results, settings). Note that this deletes data stored by AlgoLens only and does not affect your original data held by YouTube/Google. As narrow exceptions, coupon redemption history (kept to prevent fraudulent credit farming) and the minimal transaction records required as legal evidence of payments and refunds may be retained for as long as those purposes require; neither contains directly identifying personal information.

8. Nature of the Analysis

The analysis and interpretation shown by the Service is AlgoLens's own interpretation, not information provided by YouTube. A notice to this effect is displayed in each relevant area of the app.
